Adult Web Hosting – SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - GoDaddy.com, the world’s largest provider of Web hosting, domain name registrations and net new SSL Certificates, is preparing to be one of the first in the industry to offer Internet users the .XXX domain name extension.

“We’ve said from the beginning … when it comes to dotXXX, we are going to listen to our customers,” said Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons. “A large number of our customers have spoken … and there is a demand for the controversial new domain name extension – for both brand protection purposes and for new names. So what are we going to do? Go Daddy is going to give our customers what they want!”

The .XXX extension is specifically designated for the adult entertainment industry. It gives webmasters and visitors an easy to remember, directly relevant domain name and also affords Internet users, including parents, clear identification and warning about the type of site they are visiting.

Go Daddy met the requirements of ICM Registry, the operator of .XXX, to provide the domain name extension several weeks ago and intends to offer trademark holders the option to register the newly approved extension during what is known as a Sunrise period beginning in early Sept. Go Daddy and ICM Registry plan to offer .XXX registrations to all consumers thereafter, likely sometime in Oct.

“We know our customers will be well served with Go Daddy as a partner,” said ICM Registry CEO Stuart Lawley. “We look forward to working with Go Daddy in the development and marketing of the new dotXXX domain name extension. Go Daddy certainly knows how to market new concepts, especially when it comes to domain names and websites … and they are acknowledged as leaders in customer service.”

Pricing and registration dates are being finalized now.

Adult Web Hosting – MONTREAL — Gamma Entertainment launched its homeCams Model Broadcasting Network today that allows webcam models to broadcast across the company’s live network. The company said the new offering includes flagship sites homeCams.com, Privatefeeds.com, and partner cam sites from adult brands including Evil Angel and Next Door Entertainment.

“The number of adult performers who offer webcam shows is fast growing. As with all Gamma solutions, our goal is to empower cam models with the right technology, tools and quality traffic to take their businesses to the next level,” said Gamma president Karl Bernard. He added, “We’ve seen this first hand by powering the live performances of our partner performers — now it’s time to unleash homeCams to the world.”

Gamma explained that the platform was designed in collaboration with webcam models and live cam industry specialists. It allows solo models, cam couples and model studios to broadcast online, launch their profiles, use social media tools, refer new customers and access real-time earnings reports.

All models start with a guaranteed base salary and earn between 35 and 45 percent commissions on all revenue they generate across Gamma’s network of more than 200 cam sites.

In addition, models can earn up to 80 percent commissions for any new clients they bring to the network using a referral program that rewards both models and their clients.

“The initial feedback from our model partners has been extremely positive,” said homeCams director, Guillaume Boisvert.

He added, “By coupling our new platform with the reach of the Gamma live network, we feel confident that we have built a model platform that is as profitable as it is user friendly and fun to work on. We invite all performers to try homeCams.”

Adult Hosting News – TEMPE, AZ — Vaughn Liley, a long-time business associate of ICM Registry’s Stuart Lawley who now represents the company, faced vocal online adult operator attendees at The Phoenix Forum over .XXX on Saturday. The mostly critical crowd lashed out at ICM Registry’s .XXX plan, which was approved by ICANN last month, and at Liley, who was unable to answer a number of crucial questions posed at him such as final .XXX policies regarding the exact start up plans such as the Sunrise Trademark qualification rules and actual retail prices for .XXX domain names, among others.

.XXX already has 800,000 pre-reserved domain names, according to ICM Registry, which is posed to roll it out in September after two sunrise periods for adult companies, including one for website trademark owners. The seminar, called “.XXX — Now What” and moderated by Wasteland’s Colin Rowntree, included Liley, who was joined by numerous online adult execs, a lawyer and a journalist, including Pink Visual’s Allison Vivas, GEC Media’s Gregory Dumas, Mikandi’s Chris Lewicki, Wildline’s Chris Miller, journalist Tom Hymes and attorney Jeffrey Douglas.

Liley, who said he came to The Phoenix Forum to “try to set the record straight,” attempted to pacify the crowd and some panel members by answering the shout-out queries, but he would have been better off putting his hand in a fishbowl full of piranhas.

At the contentious meeting, Liley said IFFOR, which is the rule-making body for the .XXX sTLD, is moving ahead to tap nine IFFOR policy council members, five of whom will come from the online adult industry.

One seminar attendee, who has owned adult websites for more than 10 years, told the panel and crowd of nearly 250, the largest crowd of all Phoenix Forum seminars this year, he would be “out of his mind” to buy .XXX domain names knowing that its policies could flux.

“Why would I buy into .XXX when years down the line a board can change the rules at any given time and I lose all that traffic, all that investment?” he said.

But Dumas, who is pro .XXX, responded, “Just don’t buy it. No one has to buy a .XXX domain.”

Hymes, who has been active in the fight against .XXX, said there are just too many unknowns with the sTLD and its issues.

“There’s are a lot of maybes we don’t know,” he said. “We don’t know what will happen next. But it is an actual certainty that ICM’s .XXX will be the only adult TLD, sponsored or otherwise. They will spend all sorts of money to defend their imposed real estate.”

“ICANN, which signed ICM Registry to the contract [Friday] and it is a done deal, will likely impose new provisions down the road. And your .XXX sites will be filtered at hotel chains and universities.”

But Liley tried to put a positive spin on .XXX and possible filtering including outright rejection by certain countries such as India, saying “we can look at the glass half full or half empty.”

“The reports on India blocking .XXX aren’t substantiated,” he said. But in terms of the exposure and opportunity that lies at hand … we were in Time magazine, we were on Conan O’Brien’s show, MSNBC, FOX News and a major German publication.”

Rowntree retorted: “But I can get the same exposure if I take a shit in Times Square.”

Webmaster News – LAS VEGAS — Corbin Fisher announced today that its main website will now include “Unlimited” Mondays with numerous new features. Beginning April 4 and each following Monday, the site will swich up from its traditional solo scene updates and reflect an “experimental evolution in style” that will include profile videos, behind-the-scenes footage, private interviews with talent, short films, spoofs and narratives.

The offering kicks off with the company’s first shoot from its new Las Vegas studio. “We’ve shown some of the tremendous talents of our videography team with the video profiles of our top guys. Now, we’re taking it a step further,” said Corbin Fisher CEO, Jason Gibson.

He added, “The title really says it all — we want to make Monday a no-limit zone. We have all types of things planned. If you can think of it, we plan to try it out.” The company said that while its solo videos are phasing out, hardcore action will continue to play a part in Monday’s Unlimited updates. “We want to give our videographers more creative freedom, especially with regard to the more sexually-charged segments,” Gibson said.

Corbin Fisher COO, Brian Dunlap added, “Quite frankly, our members likely were as excited to watch solos as we were to film them — not very much. It seems as if the role solos play in the industry is to be easy-to-shoot, easy-to-edit and cheap-to-produce filler content. Today’s audience craves more, and we craved creating more.”

Gibson commented, “In addition to the four weekly action updates we create for our sites, the production of CF Unlimited every week will be a challenge we are excited about meeting — even though it will be more expensive, be more labor intensive, and it will require more creativity from our talented production team. We feel this unique presentation of the guys will be very appealing to our audience and further distinguish us from our competition.”

In addition to the change, the company’s two sub-sites of Corbin Fisher, Amateur College Men and Amateur College Sex will change their names to American College Men and American College Sex.

“The name change doesn’t mean we are moving away from our roots. In fact we will continue to specialize in finding fresh guys that are brand new to the industry, many of whom would otherwise never even consider doing porn,” Gibson said.

He added, “We will continue to showcase them as they explore all areas of their sexuality on camera with our growing stable of more experienced upperclassmen. We’ve grown as a company and a studio and we feel our name should reflect that.”

Adult Web Hosting – SEATTLE, WA — MiKandi has announced that developers can now release applications with in-app billing, powered by MiKandi Gold. In-app billing allows developers a way to introduce customers to premium content on the mobile phone. The company’s latest product launch enables developers and adult content producers to sell additional content within applications, such as video clips or game levels, in affordable chunks that appeal to customers, the company said.

“In-app billing has been long anticipated by the Android developer community,” the company said. “Customers are voting with their dollars on other mobile platforms, indicating that in-app billing is crucial to an app developer’s quiver of revenue tools.” As part of the launch, PinkTV is releasing its own app, which integrates MiKandi’s latest API.

“At PinkTV, we’ve been very excited about in-app billing because we know that our customers want a taste before they buy,” said Bryan Clinger of PinkTV.

“This allows us to enable taste tests in a seamless manner and MiKandi’s speed in launching this is impressive, considering how long it’s taken other app platform providers.”

Industry analysts Juniper Research forecast that revenues from in-app/in-game purchases will overtake the traditional pay-per-download model as the primary source of monetization by 2013.

“At MiKandi, we believe that our job is to make developers money and to make customers happy,” said Jesse Adams, MiKandi’s co-founder and president. “In-app billing satisfies both of these goals, particularly in the adult space.”

MiKandi said it is confident that in-app billing will provide a substantial boost to the earnings power of its developers.

Existing MiKandi developers are invited to begin integrating the API and new developers can register for a free MiKandi developer account at http://developer.mikandi.com.

Adult Web Hosting – LOS ANGELES — In response to the so-called “War on Pornography” being waged by special interest groups demanding Internet censorship and Congressional interference with Constitutionally-protected speech, the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has sent a letter to the U.S. Congress and the U.S. and state Attorneys General offering a counterpoint to the organized anti-porn phone-in and letter-writing campaign.

According to ASACP CEO Joan Irvine, proactive steps needed to be taken to provide a balanced view of the complex issues and passionate debates surrounding the legitimate adult entertainment industry; the nebulous notion of “obscenity;” and the need to keep children out of and away from adult-oriented materials.

“I read in the Amarillo Globe-News that Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, and Reps. Mike McIntyre, D-N.C., and Randy Forbes, R-Va., have drafted a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder requesting that he begin vigorously prosecuting illegal adult pornography producers and distributors under existing obscenity laws,” Irvine stated. “In my email to Congressional legislators and Attorneys General, I informed them that ‘there is no need for this action, since the legal adult entertainment industry is not involved in obscenity.’”

“ASACP can prove that the adult entertainment industry has taken steps to protect children from being in and viewing age-restricted content,” Irvine added. “The adult industry is just that — ‘by and for adults.’”

Since 1996 ASACP has operated a child pornography (CP) reporting hotline. An analysis of data compiled from more than 400,000 reports of suspected child pornography received by its hotline during a five-year period provides a deeper understanding of the scope and context of online CP (www.asacp.org/whitepaper/ASACP-whitepaper-9-10-2010.pdf).

ASACP launched the Restricted To Adults (RTA) label in 2006. The success of this initiative shows that proactive steps taken by the adult entertainment industry, coupled with technology and parental supervision of children’s Internet and mobile use, is a highly effective means of keeping kids from age-restricted material (www.rtalabel.org/rtapaper/rta-label-paper-final.pdf).

According to Tim Henning, ASACP’s VP of Technology and Forensic Research, more than 4.5 million adult websites currently use the RTA label, accounting for the bulk of professional sites. “There are more than 20 billion monthly hits to pages labeled with RTA,” Henning stated, adding that “the majority of sites have self-labeled with RTA including the 20 percent of adult sites that generate approximately 80 percent of all adult Internet traffic.” Henning noted that this rapid adoption of RTA stopped U.S. legislation for mandatory labeling, adding that “If parents have installed parental filtering software and/or setup the built-in features available in Microsoft and Apple operating systems, then RTA blocks children from viewing age-restricted content.”

For its dedication and efforts, ASACP and its RTA labeling initiative have received widespread support from business leaders and trade associations, governments and civic organizations.

At a recent Free Speech Coalition (FSC) press conference, Pink Visual President Allison Vivas commented on the industry’s support for ASACP, stating that “This is a group whose entire purpose is to help protect children and which has been recognized by the U.S. Congress.” On the Andre Controversa radio show, FSC Executive Director Diane Duke praised the adult industry’s filtering system, which prevents children from accessing its content. Duke reinforced the timely message by blogging at XBIZ, “The adult entertainment industry has always supported efforts to improve child Internet safety, especially greater parental involvement in filtering and supervising their children’s use of the Internet.” At the time of its launch, AVN’s Paul Fishbein foresaw the value of this unique tool for self-regulation, “not only to the parents themselves, but to the adult webmaster community, which can now have less fear of government action against them, and to the government itself, which can now rest a little easier knowing that the adult industry is taking important steps to prevent unwitting web surfers from inadvertently accessing material which they would not want to see and which might not be appropriate for them.”

These leaders referred to ASACP’s advanced online child protection technology and RTA. The website – RTALABEL.org – has recently been translated into French, German, and Spanish to address the needs of international consumers and website owners.

“Thanks to the support of the industry, ASACP has been able to create a free and easy-to-use label to designate content for adults-only,” Irvine stated. “The movie industry has MPAA, the video gaming industry has ESRB, and the adult industry has its own label with RTA.”

The ASACP RTA program was also honored by the American Society of Association Executives by being named the overall winner of the 2008 Associations Make a Better World award. ASACP has received Certificates of Recognition from the U.S. House of Representatives, the California State Senate, California State Assembly, and the cities of Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego, among others, all of which acknowledged ASACP’s efforts to help parents prevent their children from viewing age-restricted content.

The association educates the public through an ongoing series of Public Service Announcements, available on its YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/ASACPRTA). The most recent RTA PSA, first aired at the 2011 AVN Awards Show, featured star performers Riley Steele and Tori Black.

“By bridging the needs of parents, industry, regulators and other stakeholders,” Irvine concluded, “ASACP strives to make a profound societal difference that protects children and underscores the legitimacy of the adult entertainment industry — and which lessens the need for governmental involvement.”

About ASACP
Founded in 1996, ASACP is a non-profit organization dedicated to online child protection and is comprised of two separate corporate entities: Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection and the ASACP Foundation. The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization. ASACP manages a membership program that provides resources to companies in order to help them protect children online. The ASACP Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The ASACP Foundation battles child pornography through its CP Reporting Hotline and helps parents prevent children from viewing age-restricted material online via its Restricted To Adults (RTA) website label (www.rtalabel.org). ASACP has invested nearly 15 years in developing progressive programs to protect children, and its relationship in assisting the adult industry’s child protection efforts is unparalleled.
Adult Webmaster News – SAN DIEGO, CA — Corbin Fisher on Monday filed a copyright infringement and civil conspiracy suit against 95 BitTorrent users who are alleged to have pirated one video over a one-day span. The suit outlines how the alleged Corbin Fisher uploaders and downloaders traded the video, whose title wasn’t named in the suit.

The defendants in the suit are named as a group — Swarm of Nov. 16, 2010, Sharing Hash File A3E6F65F2E3D67200A5908F64ED55 B66A080B8 — as well as unnamed John Does. Corbin Fisher claims defendant Doe No. 1 was the first who uploaded the filed on Nov. 16 at 12:08 a.m., while the last defendant, named Doe No. 95, infringed on Nov. 16. at 11:30 p.m.

The suit describes the length of time between each of the 95 defendants’ transactions on a BitTorrent network, typically ranging from seconds to 45 minutes.

“The life cycle of a file shared using BitTorrent begins with just one individual — the initial propogator, sometimes called a ‘seed’ user or ‘seeder,’” the suit says. “The initial propogator intentionally elects to share a file with a torrent swarm. The original file, in this case, contains [Corbin Fisher] copyrighted work.”

The suit goes on to call the users in the swarm thieves and that “in the BitTorrent world, there is honor among thieves,” who ultimately are rewarded with preserved network speeds.

“Because of the nature of the collective swarm downloads, every infringer is — and by necessity together — simultaneously both stealing [Corbin Fisher's] copyrighted material an redistributing it,” the suit said.

The suit was filed at U.S. District Court in San Diego by attorney Marc Randazza.
