According to ASACP CEO Joan Irvine, proactive steps needed to be taken to provide a balanced view of the complex issues and passionate debates surrounding the legitimate adult entertainment industry; the nebulous notion of “obscenity;” and the need to keep children out of and away from adult-oriented materials. The PSA features Black and Steele reminding companies to protect children and to protect their business by labeling with RTA.

The ongoing RTA PSA series features performers and adult industry leaders discussing the need for proactive responsibility and the use of the RTA meta-label. Webmaster News – Los Angeles, CA – The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is pleased to announce the ASACP Foundation a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Since 1996, ASACP has operated as a non-profit 501(c)(4) social welfare organization.
“As a 501(c)(4), donations to ASACP were not tax-deductible as a charitable donation; it is considered an advertising or ordinary business expense. Many people asked ASACP to establish a charity, so that in addition to their sponsorship and membership payments, they could donate money that would be a charitable tax-deductible gift. Therefore, we are pleased to announce that we have established the ASACP Foundation — 501(c)(3) nonprofit,” stated ASACP CEO Joan Irvine.

Webmaster News – Los Angeles, CA – On September 13, 2009, Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) CEO, Joan Irvine, graduated from the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Redondo Beach Program.
The Leadership Redondo Beach program is similar to the many other Chamber of Commerce Leadership programs around the world. It requires a two-year commitment. The first year focuses on educating participants about the community while meeting with numerous city and business community leaders. The second year requires working on a group project that will benefit the city and residents of Redondo Beach. Read more
Sureflix Helps ASACP Further International Child Protection Efforts

The event was arranged by Sureflix in order to introduce ASACP to key decision makers from Canadian companies in the industry. ASACP CEO Joan Irvine and Technology and Forensic Research Director Tim Henning attended the event. Sureflix not only organized the networking event, they provided opportunities for ASACP to meet with their staff and further educate them on ASACP’s activities. Sureflix also offered to include the ASACP public service announcements on their TV channel in Canada. However when reporting CP it could be just as important to know what not to do as it is to know what to do in order to not become criminally liable for the possession or distribution of child pornography.
